I am from burnt cigarettes

I am from dancers

That sound like teachers

With every step they take

 

I am from rough skin but soft pure pink gowns

And hard wood floors that echo

I am from a devoted artist to his people

            From arduous work

I am from a painful civil war

From a revolution

I am from an from bright hues that cover

            The fact that people cried

I am from a glimpse of peachy sorbet happiness

 From a place in darkness

I am from culture and unity

Because I help unit us together

I am from Balinando by Enrique Iglesias

            A song that never stops dancing

 

I am from anyone who has hurt from war

Who had the unfortunate luck of feeling broken

But had the courage to still fight

And enjoy the special moments

I am from traditional Colombia.
