The Café

I hit a dead end.

The street just ended right here.

It’s very odd how the ground switches.

From a black, smooth asphalt,

to an old, rocky ground.

That reminded me of a gravel walkway.

The sun was setting straight ahead of me.

With a gradient that was painted

by a professional.

From navy,

To yellow rose,

A truly amazing sunset.

The café’s lights are turning on,

but no one is here.

No one.

Silence covers the dead end.

There are tables in a courtyard,

but no people to sit at them and talk.

The silence is peaceful, and comforting,

like a hug from the Almighty.

What a way to end a perfect day.
